The longest-running private MSK ultrasound and regenerative medicine course
Established in 2008. Partnered with the Interventional Orthobiologics Foundation — the course provides entry and intermediate level training that satisfies IOF curriculum requirements for IOF members.
This is a hands-on course, not a lecture series. With one ultrasound machine for every two to three attendees, live models, and a faculty-to-student ratio of roughly one to four, you scan and practice injecting for two days rather than watching someone else do it.
Three days
Thursday — Regenerative medicine
A basic science and clinical update on current evidence-based best practices in orthopedics. We cover the business of orthobiologics, including patient presentation and practice management, adjuvant therapies such as shockwave, laser, and therapeutic ultrasound, and the current US regulatory landscape presented without bias so clinicians can make informed decisions. The afternoon is given over to live demonstrations.
Friday and Saturday — MSK ultrasound
Scanning technique and the ultrasound anatomy that matters in everyday practice: shoulder, elbow, wrist and hand, pelvis, hip, knee, foot and ankle, and spine. Injection techniques are demonstrated on live patients using IOF Augmented Reality Injection Trainers.
Augmented reality injection training
The course uses IOF Augmented Reality Injection Trainers — which let you practice ultrasound-guided injections on a live person.
No cadaver lab. No waiting for the right pathology to present itself. Participants perform the same injections, on live tissue, under the same conditions — which makes injection training reproducible in a way conventional courses cannot offer, and considerably more effective.
