Course goals
At the conclusion of this course, each participant should be better able to:
- Understand how musculoskeletal ultrasound scanners work
- List the indications for MSK ultrasound
- Understand the role of MSK ultrasound in clinical practice
- Recognize normal ultrasound anatomy of the shoulder, elbow, hip, knee, foot and ankle, and spine
- Recognize abnormal ultrasound anatomy of the shoulder, elbow, hip, knee, foot and ankle, and spine
- Use ultrasound guided techniques for MSK injections and nerve blocks
- Correctly code and bill for ultrasound procedures
- Understand current indications for orthobiologics based on the published evidence
- Understand techniques for ultrasound guided PRP, stem cell, and viscosupplementation injections
- Maximize bone marrow aspiration cell counts during office based procedures
